Facebook: Ruining lives for years

“Facebook helps you connect and share with the people in your life.”

What’s on your mind?

Facebook helps you stare at a computer screen for hours, and scroll in a hopeless manner down your news feed, which it has smartly made never ending. Considering this, Facebook helps you feel a new type of emotion; a sort of deep unsatisfied longing for meaning, entertainment, or substance, for which you scroll endlessly.

So, this is what on my mind regarding Facebook! I feel it has been ruining our lives, the same way, it was meant to bring it at ease. Here are some indications, I could think of, that attest the above lines.

  1. Facebook is the first thing you do in the morning, back in the noon, and again in the evening, just to keep track of the lives of everyone.
  2. Meanwhile, you also keep logging in with your mobiles and smartphones.

  3. You have more communications with people in your Friend list, than you do in real life.
  4. You regularly choose to chat rather than to pick up the phone and actually talk with someone, or, actually visit them!
  5.  “Not right now, I’m on Facebook.” If you’ve ever found yourself saying this to people around you.
  6. You’ve ever announced some important change in your life on Facebook before you picked up the phone or met in person with your closest friends and told them in advance.
  7. You’ve cut short a real-world conversation with someone you’ve just met (and liked) so you could stalk them on Facebook.
  8. You’ve ever revealed something very personal on Facebook, which later on made you regret.
  9. You regularly find yourself together with friends, all accessing your own Facebook accounts instead of actually talking with each other
  10. You log on to Facebook mostly to use apps.

Rough words? Possibly.
Do they apply to you? Probably.

Just wanted to make you think, as I feel, I have been a victim once. I still like Facebook, but I have learnt to put limits. Being connected is one thing, but over usage/dependence is undoubtedly another! Here’s an all new proposed Facebook tagline:

“Facebook helps you connect and share your life with a lot of people , you don’t care about, in exchange of your valuable time.”

And that is the reason i’ve deleted it…may be not, i think i deleted it because it even makes you feel inferior.I mean my fb friends thought i had a great life seeing my fb pics, and i thought they are living a true life seeing their pics. No one really knew what i am going through. Its a fake world out there.Blogging on the other hand is so real. I am addicted to it. WordPress connects you to the real ‘YOU’.
