  1. My Dad died eventually from smoking, although he quit late in life. He started smoking when he was 12 in rural Georgia. No wording on packs back then. Yet, by smoking, he actually did his children a favor as none of us smoke. Nice post. Thanks for following reading one of mine.

  2. Tom Robbins in one of his semi-comic but still poetic novels says that the lure of cigarettes is strong because it the closest to fire that man can go, hold it in his hands, and not be consumed by it (he did not say that it just takes longer to be consumed …)
I really liked the idea of holding fire in our hands and tame it.
BTW I never smoked, even though I did try in my youth, but it never
“took”. I guess my body knew better!

    • Oh that’s a totally different angle and very witty I must say. I too liked it, never thought of that.
Thanks for sharing such a thoughtful comment.

      Lucky you!!

  3. Even as alarming and sobering as these numbers convey about smoking. Unfortunately people, especially our children will continue to fall prey to smoking and it’s effects. But please continue your efforts!

  4. Keep it up, Tapish! You’re doing a great job by creating awareness about such an important issue.

  5. The horrible truth about smoking…I’ve tried a million times to explain to my father that he should quit it but…impossible:)

  6. TOTALLY AGREE. The only thing I believe I hate is this. Smoking. Can’t tolerate smokers either. But what about friends…Yes, I’m constantly working on them. “Hope”

    🙂
